All David Ross Acting Academy Students are invited to join our agency and of course exposure depends on local and national media projects and the casting profiles requested. All students aged between 7-18 attending our classes can become members of the agency. David Ross Acting aims to both train its students and take them through and prepare them for auditions. We insist that parents recognize licensing laws on young actors under the age of 16 and that chaperoning to and from casting and filming is the responsibility of the parents or guardian. The David Ross acting academy will only consider students for auditions if both students and parents have shown commitment to the academy and on the basis that the actor matches the requested profile of the casting requirements.

Some useful tips: Subscribe to a copy of the stage, you can do this online at The Stage. This is a weekly supplement that will give you lots of information on open auditions that you can organise yourself.

Check here for weekly auditions advertised in the Stage online.

If your are interested in appearing in The Spotlight, then Click Here. You must be a member of The David Ross Acting Academy or be represented by an recognised agent or personal manager. As the industry's leading casting resource, Spotlight is used by most TV, film, radio and theatrical companies in the UK, and many worldwide. Our Internet casting services have become an essential communication tool, uniting actors, agents and production professionals more quickly and easily than ever before.

All serious actors should have a high quality, preferably professional photograph 8 x 10 inches in black and white headshot produced. This must be signed and dated by the photographer taking the picture (even if a family member took the picture). You should have both hard copies and digital copied made. A good Photographer should charge anywhere in the region of £30 to £50 for a professional headshot photo. Good examples can be seen to the left.

Artists without this cannot be considered for the spotlight or agency work. We only consider students for the 'spotlight' if we believe they are demonstrating a suitable level of attainment and/or already have the credentials to support their application.

Students can apply to join the Spotlight between April and November. If applications are with The Spotlight between April and September, student profiles will go into the next available directory which comes out in May. If they join from the beginning of October up unto the deadline which is 15th November, the online CV will not go up until the end of January. Speak to your Academy Principal if you believe this would be of interest to you.

All David Ross Acting Academy artists can have their headshot added to Our Gallery for FREE. To do this, professional pictures are required as above. You must send the headshot photo to David Ross Agency Head Office, contact information can be found on the Contact Us page. We will also accept a Jpeg. image which can be e-mailed to our agency office. Please include name and contact information and the name of the academy you attend. We reserve the right to refuse images that do not match our requirements. Hardcopy photos unfortunately cannot be returned. Our Gallery is marketed and viewed by UK national casting directors.
